Autumn Shakes: Candy Corn & Salted Caramel Pumpkin Pie

It seems like the milkshakes at Disney World get more elaborate every year. For the 2021 Halloween season, Hollywood Scoops at Disney's Hollywood Studios featured a candy corn flavored milkshake with a mini bundt cake on top! We gave it a try and while it tasted more like vanilla than candy corn, it was certainly tasty and hit the spot on a humid afternoon.
To get in the spooky spirit, we recreated this shake at home! We started by making a candy corn simple syrup to ensure we captured the flavor of the traditional Halloween sweet. It also gave our shake a nice orange color.
We really had fun adding decorative autumn-themed sprinkles, candy pumpkins, and of course an orange Mickey straw! This rich treat would be perfect to serve at a Halloween party.
Our second creation was inspired by a shake that was served at Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club resort in 2020. It is flavored with salted caramel and pumpkin spice, and even topped with a piece of pie! Our version uses real pumpkin in the base and the salted caramel adds a nice contrast. In addition to the piece of pumpkin pie, we added a Mickey-shaped cookie . This drink truly tastes like autumn in a glass!
While drinking these shakes in chilly New England isn't quite the same as being on Walt Disney World property, the flavors certainly got us in a fall mood. Before we know it, we'll be walking down Main Street USA all decorated with Mickey pumpkin wreaths!
